Job Hunt Report 2010 - Week 3

This week there were multiple positions posted that involved music, one in particular from a content provider that I know and use and another from the music channel that everybody knows. Working in the music industry or TV news interests me greatly.

I better understand how New Jersey Unemployment Insurance works. Significantly, I received my first ever unemployment check. When I look at old paystubs and see how much I paid into UI, it makes receiving some back a little less stigmatizing.

I started "swinging for the fences" on two other applications.

The exciting part about using a great real time web analytics like Clicky is that I can see when a prospect is visiting my portfolio site shortly after I apply online. This makes the process feel less like "shouting into the wind". It's a much greater time-saver than going on interviews and finding out that "you're not what we're looking for".

I've decided to produce a short animation for my YouTube channel which is an elaboration of one of my comics at My Life In The Trenches. I have written the script and next, need to plan a timeline that will allow me create this 15-second piece to the level of polish I envision.

Regards, talk to you soon.
