Job Hunt Report 2010 - Week 6

I spent less time actively looking and devoted said time to preparing for my first interview on this job hunt earlier in the week. This involved a lot of editing of my "offline" portfolo, removing old samples and printing new high-quality game graphics on my Epson Workforce 600 - a very good home-office "all-in-one" printer from a company with excellent customer service.

One of the issues of amassing as much experience over the years as I have is the quandary about removing pieces that look dated, but represent an important and successful project.

It also begs the question of the overlap of samples that are online at my portfolio site, but I feel hiring managers expect an Artist-candidate to be toting one for "optics".

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here on the particulars of the interview - it was the first one and I was glad to have been brought in.

There has been radio silence from specialty recruiters and a goal next week is to proactively push them a little this week.

Until next time.
